Check Out Patton Oswalt’s ‘Star Wars/Marvel Mash Up’ Poster

Yesterday, Disney confirmed its plans to release Star Wars: Episode VII in 2015, followed by a new Star Wars film every year thereafter. Coincidentally, yesterday also saw the Parks & Recreation producers release a video of guest star/geek scholar Patton Oswalt improvising about the future of the Star Wars universe. The improvisation turned into an epic eight-minute-plus pitch for a fever-dream Episode VII, a mega-crossover with the Avengers,X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Clash of the Titans that would feature a cuckolded Han Solo and a decapitated Chewbacca — who’s not dead, don’t worry, they’re making him a spider-robot body with ion cannon shoulders, but only for the post-credits sequence. Also, Boba Fett. Also also, Moon Knight.

Oswalt appears on tonight on Parks & Rec. In his honor, EW visual guru Jef Castro designed the movie poster for Oswalt’s Episode VII.

Limited Time Magic: Disney’s Truck Shop

I had an opportunity to check out the newest Limited Time Magic offering yesterday, and it is definitely an interesting one. At first sight, it may not seem that exciting, but it kind of is. I talked extensively with one of the area managers who let me know some interesting details about the future of “Disney’s Truck Shop”.

Right now, you can find the truck in Downtown Disney’s West Side selling limited edition t shirts (pictured above) offered in women’s cut, children’s, and unisex, along with lots of merchandise themed toward vehicles (antenna toppers, decals) and some Cars and monorail merchandise.

The truck is adorable. They acquired the truck back in the December and have since decided that they are going to use it bring the Disney World presence off property to festivals in the surrounding area. It was at a festival at Lake Eola in Orlando last week selling art, and will soon be at the Great American Pie Festival in Celebration selling kitchen goods (like those found at Mickey’s Pantry).

She also talked to me about the future of the truck on Disney property. You may see this truck popping up in unexpected places if it does well at its current location. I, personally, would love to see more unique merchandise themed to the Truck Shop. Any new unique merchandise is okay in my book!

“The multi-plane camera had levels and on each of these levels we put a big glass on it. We’d paint the foreground trees on the top one, the background, the house that you’re photographing, the characters come out and on the fourth level would be the sun and the sky. When the camera panned down through these levels, you got a third dimension effect.”
